Project Butterfly:

Hello! It has been a couple days since my last post....

We had a busy start to our week and thankfully the last two days have been at home. I am going to make it a point to spend at least two days at home every week, two days with no where to go and nothing to do.... WE NEED DOWN TIME! :)

However I am not sure that "down time" and me really go hand in hand. Even on our days at home I routinely find myself getting into things, that I later wonder... "how did I get myself into this?" Today was one of those days.... I would like to think that I am somewhat of a "creative" individual and while I am no Picasso I did attempt to achieve a masterpiece today.....

I have had this project in mind for several months, ever since I helped my friend Riva do something similar in her daughter's bedroom. I finally had the time.

(this is the girls room)

I find myself often getting board with my decor and it is quite common for Josh to come home to a rearranged room or at least me waiting for him to "help" me re-arrange a room. My pictures are rarely in the same place for long, my bed is always adding a few pillows or loosing a couple, my couch should be on wheels as I have had it in every different spot and angle possible in our little living room.I am always looking for ways to spice up our house! Josh (or "Steady Eddie" ) could go the rest of his life in a house unchanged and undisturbed. I tell him, he would live a boring life with out me ;).

So back to today.....

I of course (like always) thought that I could do this project in an hour or two hours (tops).....HA! I should know better.... I always do this.... 8 hours later and two paint overs later..... I AM DONE!!! I think it turned out ok.... (notice NO close ups) :)

The main reason for length and frustration in my project today was these two little 2 monkeys. If I am doing something (especially with paint) they HAVE to be right in the middle of it.....

We had a paint covered Anna moment and several Bekah time outs (for getting into paint). My tunnel vision did not allow for me to take pictures, as my only goal was to get this thing I had started DONE! :) So all I have is the final product..... :)

Hmmmm..... what is next on my project list?;)

  1. Looks great, Em!! It is a lot of work but well worth the day you spent doing it. The colors you chose were perfect!

  2. Very cute! I wish I was so creative.

  3. It looks great! I love the little butterflies...

  4. HGTV/DIY has nothing on you.....
