Why Not?

While proposing the choice of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or grilled cheese sandwiches to my girls this afternoon. I came up with an idea. Why not combine the two...... (minus the cheese)? So we had grilled pb & j and the result was nothing short of  ooey, gooey deliciousness. :) While I am sure that daily consumption of this dish could result in serious clogging of the arteries, I confess that it will be a wonderful treat to have every now and then.  It was almost dessert-like in taste, in fact it makes me wonder as to what the addition of whip cream would taste like. ;)Didn't Elvis loved fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches?( ahhhhh a man after my own taste buds.)  What about peanut butter and jelly french toast?Ohhhh the peanut butter possibilities are endless and for a true peanut butter lover, such as myself, I am all too happy to sample all the experimental dishes that come to mind. I mean with peanut butter how bad can it be?

So I am sure I am not the first to come up with this idea and I  would love to hear of any other great peanut butter recipes or yummy sandwich concoctions, or send me a comment telling me if you are a crunchy or creamy peanut butter person.

  2. ok,you know how I said I had a grilled PB & J during my pregnancy due to cravings? I was wrong. After remembering AND looking at your picture, I realized I had just toasted it, not fried it. Now my mouth is watering to try a new version of this classic. You can make me one, ok?

When you cannot afford meat and other costly food items, you find creative ways to make the cheap ones fun and exciting.

My boys love peanut butter on graham crackers with chocolate chips sprinkled on top. A rare treat, but a favorite!
