Today was the long awaited and much anticipated birthday party! This year we decided to try something new and went to Color-Me- Mine. It ended up going over really well with the little group of 4 & 5 year old girl friends Rebekah invited. (Josh left feeling a little overwhelmed by all the estrogen. He was the only guy.)
The best part about a party at Color-Me-Mine was I didn’t have to clean my house! :)
Here she is before we left home. How old are you Rebekah?
Such concentration while painting her green fairy.
Here she is with her finished product. Believe me, it took all of me to restrain myself from “touching it up” but in the end the final product was all hers. ( ok….. I did help paint the face! She was going to paint the whole thing GREEN!)
Anna got to dazzle up a plate. ( That was mommy’s practical choice. ;) )
My wonderful friend Aly at B Sweet Cakes made this beautiful cake and it was so delicious too! She is truly gifted and I marvel at her talent!
I didn’t plan on it, but it kind of ended up that we had a daisy theme for the party. Daisy aprons, daisy cake, daisy bags, daisy plates. All one big coincidence, REALLY! (I don’t usually do “coincidences”, I am more of a planner. But this time I couldn’t have orchestrated it any better.)
We are so blessed to have such dear friends and I am humbled by the love that they show our children. My friend Shanna (another truly gifted friend) made this adorable “doodles and drawings” board for Bekah and I am just giddy over it! I can’t wait to put it up in the girls’ room. I think this means I get to clear off my refrigerator ( or at least partially clear it off.)
We had such a fun weekend and now……. bed time!
