I could literally post 500 plus pictures from our week away, but I have narrowed it down (slightly.)We had such a great time relaxing, learning, and being together in Big Bear last week. I already showed you how the week started… bowling, party, family, friends….. there was also several Jacuzzi dunks…..( sitting in a 103 degree bubbly water ,while it’s in the 40’s outside, watching stars might just be one of my all time favorite things to do.)We did a lot and since pictures can say “a thousand words”, I will skip over the words and give you the pics….
Grandpa and Anna enjoying the Jacuzzi.
My best friend Katie…. we have been best buds since we were 11! (Going on 20 years now! Can you believe it, Kate!?)She is a great mom and wife and is now expecting baby #4!!!!
Me and Micah with my siblings…… Nathan, Donna and Philip
The love of my life, with our view behind us! Gorgeous! How can anyone doubt there is a God when looking at such magnificent creation!?
Micah letting Uncle Nate know he is loved!
The boys….. playing games….
This is a “bunny house” the kids built! It stayed up all week and while we saw a lot of rabbits, we never saw one actually it it…… but we did see a squirrel making himself at home inside!
After our family headed home on Sunday morning( after a great family picture session -remember this?) we went with our friends ,the Goyers, to the famous Alpine Slide. (My bottom and back were a little sore after said time on said slide, however the kids AND Josh loved it! )
Daddy and Anna on their way up,up, up…..
Monday we went to the Discovery Center in Big Bear Lake … what a GORGEOUS Autumn day!!!!
Crisp, breezy and beautiful!
my little cubs….
Me and my ladies….
Then we took a walk along the lake….
(taking a lip-gloss application stop….. very important)
The girls had “nature journals” and a glue stick….. they collected leaves and seeds and stuck them in their notebooks….. they loved it!
Bear masks we made… (my little teddy bears)
We seemed to have plenty of time for fun little “extras”….. like sponge rollers
My sleeping beauties….
Waking up….. all glamorous and stuff…..
School in-front of a crackling fire, scarves on and a mountain view…….. ummmm pack my bags….. I am ready to move!
Making “black bears” with coffee grounds…… this might be my favorite craft ever!!!!!!! It smelled so good!
The finished product…. don’t you love the big googly eyes Anna chose for hers.
On Wednesday we headed to the Moonridge Zoo. This little zoo has some pretty big animals….. including grizzly bears, black bears, mountain lions, wolves (A LOT!), bison, and bald eagles as well as a lot of smaller creatures. We had the place to ourselves!
My little chunker, snug as a bug!
Hopefully that is some strong fencing, cause that is a bear like 10 feet from my family!
We got to experience a little hail! We had weather perfection the entire week! Cold and crisp but still sunny, even when there were a ring of clouds around us and it was raining back at home, it felt like we were in this glorious weather bubble!
We had such a great time, reading and reading, crafting, cuddling, talking, singing, hiking, learning, resting, playing, eating, sitting, creating, coloring, writing and being in the mountains! We are pretty sure this needs to be an annual trip! (Or like I said…. I am ready to move! )
p.s. Rebekah actually READ her first book while in Big Bear! (The book was only 8 pages but it was so exciting for us all to listen to her read aloud! I am one proud mamma bear! )
