Remember THIS ,when I told you about my love of Fall? And remember my liking this….
well… imagine my joy when I stumbled upon a tutorial HERE for a do-it-yourself version.
And since we have been reading all about the pilgrims and the Mayflower, this activity happened to just fit right into our school lessons.
So the girls and I set out to make our very own Mayflower….. Pottery Barn inspired with an educational ulterior motive.
Rebekah getting to “really iron” for the first time.
We came to the decision, that the Pilgrims most likely did not use a sewing machine in constructing the sails on the Mayflower, but that it was still ok for us to take advantage of modern conveniences for constructing our version….
(hoping the black and white photos cover the lack of make up and not so fixed hair….. hoping)
Rebekah was insistent upon us having a British flag on it and made this one all on her own, without one ounce of help from me. I was pretty impressed!
After we finished our Thanksgiving project, the girls promptly put on their bathing suits and went…..
swimming……. typical mid- November activity, right?
….ah, only in So Cal.
