Yesterday was our last day in Yosemite. Josh and I have both decided that we will be exploring this park for our lifetime and that it makes it onto our list of “Most favorite places on earth”.
We had pristine weather yesterday and as a result we just couldn’t bear to say good-bye right away. We stayed the majority of the day… it made for a late night arrival home, but the pictures will show you… it was well worth it. Who needs sleep, right?
p.s. if there is an award for the most pictures in one post… this will be the winner!
Time walking around the Village and visiting the Visitor Center and Museum. The girls earned another “Junior Ranger” badge to add to their collections.
Micah was thrilled with the chance to explore some of the exhibits. Anna was eager to help him. Since Anna only outweighs Micah by about 5 lbs it is pretty funny to watch her try and cart him around.
As part of the requirement for getting certified as a Junior Ranger and “Cub Ranger”(for under 6) the girls had to pick up trash. We talked about our goal in picking up trash is 1.) to serve our Creator in taking care of what He has given us and 2.) so that we can keep our world nice for the generations to come. This homeschooling mom was all about this fun educational day!
We visited the Indian exhibit within the Museum. There was a lady there that taught our girls a traditional Indian game.
This time of year, the park is drastically less crowded than during the Summer. It felt like the park was ours for the taking. It was wonderful! Rebekah has decided it was like being in Narnia… with all the snow. She described it best… “magical.” It was.
After we completed our tasks the girls were “certified” and they signed the registrar of Yosemite Junior Rangers. Kids from all over the world have taken part in this program!
Then it was back in the car to start our journey home… of course after making one last stop….
We pulled over in Wawona to have one last hour of playing in the snow.
This time Micah was in heaven! He loved the snow! Eating it, rolling in it, crawling in it. I’m sure the fact that it was warmer out and that it was not raining or snowing helped.
Micah.. tasting snow.
Another great time enjoying the beauty that God made.
Yosemite, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
