Not without the binky…

I have yet to take a lot of pictures of Leah… or at least pictures of JUST Leah.

I cringe at mentioning or even thinking that more kids = less pictures of each…

and I refuse to make the excuse of “what do you expect with number 4?” …

Alas…

here she is…

three and a half weeks old and we have still to take A (as in ONE)

picture of all 6 of us together and the majority of pictures I have taken of Leah, herself, have been with my trusty iphone camera.

SO…

This afternoon I had a very impromptu and quick photo session (like 5 minutes)

with our baby and she was not having it….

not without her “binky”,that is.

So this is what I got…

THIS was the result.

To Celebrate Anna…

Wasn’t I just posting something about this little girl turning 4!?!?

And just like that… I blinked… and the year flew by and now she is just one day from being a “whole hand.”

We had a birthday dinner for Anna last night.

The birthday girl was pleased…

Balloons were a hit!

Especially for this little man. ( Who by-the-way… is looking quite grown up in this picture. Sad smile)

We played “pin-the-tail on the donkey.”

Great-grandparents visit…

Josh’s grandparents came to meet Leah yesterday…

Leah is the 15th great-grandchild for June and Bill.

And she is Josh’s grandma Berdine’s 18th great-grandchild.

We also had cupcakes and a few presents to celebrate a certain little almost-five-year-old.

Micah is always willing to celebrate any occasion when chocolate is involved.

Leah… first days…

It’s hard to believe that we have passed the one week mark since Leah arrived. I find it amazing how time can crawl in the days before a baby’s arrival and as soon as they are here it’s like life takes off at rocket speed. With each one of my babies I have longed for the world to stop for just a little while so that I might soak it all in. Fully.

Leah Joy Nelson came into the world at 3:59 a.m. just three and a half hours before I was scheduled to have a c-section. I started having contractions about 10:30 that night and by 1:30 they were 4-5 minutes apart lasting about a minute and a half. So we were a tad early for our appointment. Winking smile

Mommy and baby in recovery… one tired momma.

Once we were in our room the introductions began…

DSC_0277.JPG

Leah had two very eager big sisters! And a pretty excited big brother. I wasn’t sure how Micah would react to the baby, but he came in the room ready to greet her.

And he thoroughly enjoyed mommy’s liquid diet tray.Smile with tongue out

Leah was welcomed with open arms…

Everyone… meet our Leah.

Leah… meet…. everybody!

For the majority of our time in the hospital Daddy, Mommy and Leah spent our hours resting and just being still.

I love this picture! Smile

(That “thing” around Leah’s ankle is actually called a “baby-low-jack”… it’s true.)

And then it was time to go home…
