School… and a little review of the week.

The girls went on a field trip with Daddy today…

As part of Josh’s ASCE involvement, he was serving as a volunteer judge for this event this morning and the girls were thrilled to go along as “assistant judges.” Seeing popsicle bridges, presentation displays and then seeing the bridges tested until they break… pretty cool! The girls came home with plenty of things to say about their morning. Little engineers in the making? Maybe. Winking smile

We are studying colonial times… and a couple of days ago…as part of our lessons, one of our activities was to make “Hasty Pudding”

you know… the song… “Yankee Doodle”…

Father and I went down to camp
Along with Captain Gooding
And there we saw the men and boys
As thick as hasty pudding.

Overall, the girls thought it was…. “ok”… They are game for trying pretty much anything, however unlike it was in colonial times…I don’t think it will become a staple in our diet.

Some other glimpses of our week…

While sisters were with Daddy this morning, Micah enjoyed his favorite dog… “Kipper”… from the seat of his new truck…

his version of a drive-in-movie.

The Leah girl is growing by leaps and bounds… already having chatting sessions with her friend Aveline. Winking smile

I rarely use my kitchen funnels. However, I wash them almost daily because Micah ADORES them! He knows exactly where they are in the kitchen and usually at some point in the day will pull them out and walk around the house, using them as trumpets, stacking them, putting them on his head, in his ears, putting pencils, crayons and anything else he can find through the holes. Hey they keep him busy… don’t really know why I try to keep them in the kitchen… they should go in the toy box.

This week we saw God’s promise… we actually had a double rainbow for a while. Rainbows are always a delight to see. wk8

That’s the week… up til now. Happy weekend all!
