Oh what a day!
Our Savior is Risen!
I always struggle with what to say on Easter. Our celebrations, for as wonderful as they are, never seem fully fitting for the occasion. I don’t think we will ever fully and completely “get it” this side of eternity…. I think we only have a small glimpse of the magnitude of what was accomplished that glorious day. HE ROSE! And now death has no sting, no victory, no hold!
Here is what our day looked like…. with LOTS of pictures!
Wake up! Easter baskets!
Leah’s first Easter… she was totally into it!
Easter basket treats for breakfast. He ate a banana… it wasn’t all bad.
All dressed up… to match with her big sisters… for her first Easter Sunday!
Then… Church… with the family!
Getting treats from Aunt Becky always deserves a high-five!
“Why are they making me sit for MORE pictures? Such a sad life, I have…”
Then back to Grandpa and Grandma’s for THE egg hunt!!!!
EGGS… EGGS… inside, outside… everywhere! This egg hunt is serious business!
Grandpa explaining the “logistics” of the egg hunting… like I said…. serious.
ok… maybe not… soooo …. serious.
look at that handsome boy… wet shirt, scratched face and all.
“How many eggs can I carry?”
Anna’s bucket… half way through the hunt. More to find!
Watching… just taking it all in.
Micah decided to throw all his eggs in the empty pool. That way the sisters couldn’t snag his stash.
Grandpa hid so many eggs.. he had to re-check his “spots” to make sure we got them all.
Hence… the wet shirt. Still likes chewing on buttons.
Look at my baby girl! Content with Aunt Becky. Loves watching her sisters and brother.
Counting and breaking open each egg.
“Ok… let’s take a picture of this kids…”
“Yeah, Anna… don’t really think that’s gonna work.”
How about just the girls?
Then time in the pool enjoying the GLORIOUS weather… and lots of yummy food. All before going over to the Nelson side for more fun! What a day!
He is RISEN! He is RISEN indeed!
