So you may be wondering…. Aren’t they in Maui? When will they go to the beach?
Technically we had been at the beach all week, but hadn’t really sat and played in the sand.
Well Friday was the day…
We rented a “cabana” to keep Leah out of the sun and set up for the day…
Anna is such a fickle creature… EVERYDAY she was begging to go play in the sand… once we got there she loved it for a bit and then started whining….. “I didn’t know there was SOOOO much sand at the beach…. can we go to the pool!” Oy!
Leah stayed nice and protected from the sun… keeping that baby skin safe.
Micah loved the water and was STUCK to Josh. Wherever Daddy was, Micah wanted to be there too. That’s the way it should be, don’t you think? A son thinking his dad is awesome…. I know this boy thinks his dad is pretty cool!
This little girl was an absolute fish all week. The ocean, the pool… it didn’t matter she wanted to be in water all the time! On Friday she had a great afternoon, just her and Daddy… they went snorkeling just them two. They saw sea turtles, reefs and all different kinds of fish. Josh said she was a pro! Doesn’t she look like a little surfer in this picture?
After a little while… Anna forgot about the “sand” issues and ended up loving it!
Blue eyed baby…
Getting all geared up…
Smiles for Grandma.
“Catch me if you can!” said the little man.
My mom was trying to keep a tight rein on Micah… this is no easy task. He wanted to be in the water!
So she was a really great sport and took him in. Like I’ve said… what a grandma!
He wanted to wear daddy’s flippers…
Twice a sea turtle swam right in front of us! So awesome! He was just feet away. Perfect for Anna and Micah to see since they wouldn’t be able to snorkel. See him?
There he is!
Sand play…
Micah telling daddy he wants to go back in the water!
The girls and I made sand mermaids.. this is evidence that I did, indeed, get in the sand and play with my kids. Getting in the sand is not usually my favorite thing… but ,I think, in Hawaii… I could get used to it.
The cabana was nice to have a shady spot… that Hawaii sun can be scorching! As Josh’s VERY sunburned back would prove later in the day. poor guy!
And this was Josh’s souvenir… ouch!
But still a lot of fun for our final day in Hawaii!
