Hopefully by the time our Leah is two the fact that she is one will set in. I am still in disbelief and quite frankly, denial….
We celebrated our Leah Joy’s 1st birthday (11/23) on the 25th of November with family and friends. It was a Sunday and the last day of our Thanksgiving weekend. God provided the blessing of a beautiful, sunny November afternoon and the sunshine fully reflected what this little love bug is in our lives… sunshine, indeed.
Leah makes us softer. She brings such sweetness into our home and family. Thank you Lord for the gift of our precious Leah Joy.
So the party… here is what it looked like…
Red, black, light blue and white…. the color scheme. Subtle lady bug theme. (Or not so subtle.) Sweet treats served. Several pots of coffee consumed. Family, friends and what seemed like a THOUSAND children ( ok… it was more like 30 but it seemed like a lot more.) Yep, that about sums up the day! Oh and Leah…. being her usual contented sweet tempered self.
Leah’s cake was made by my dear and talented friend Aly, who was also gracious enough to come over and help me set up before the party. A friend who gets my party-planning mind.
Time for some cake! Look who is fast approaching
A cowboy is always ready to lend a helping hand to a lady…. and a little extra help(and spit) is always appreciated when blowing out the candle.
the birthday girl was, overall, pretty lady like while eating her cake… small bites, with sweet smiles between each one.
Leah was showered with loving gifts from family and friends.
A few moments captured on the phone.
We love you Leah. Happy 1st birthday, our darling baby doll!
