a photo shoot…

Whether it was for “back-to-school”, for birthdays, for another year coming to an end… or just because my kids are changing and growing all too quickly… we needed to do a little concentrated photo shooting. Gotta get those grandparents some frame-able posed pictures… right? (Ok, and mommy too.) So back at the beginning of the month we went to a local park and took our “Fall 2012” pictures…

and here they are!

Trick or Treating and the like…

All decked out for Reformation Day.

Anna… the bride.

A little back story on Anna’s dress. She had been talking about being a bride since last Reformation Day. Sometimes she would change her mind (and mention being a mermaid, a cowgirl, a princess, a ballerina….you get the picture). She always came back to being a bride. I had no grand dreams of a costume. I just figured we would find a white dress and give her a bouquet and call it a day. I had found a veil at a garage sale for 50 cents. Well one day we walked into our local Goodwill and there hung this little dress in all its lacey, glitzy, puffy glory. It might as well have had a beacon of shimmering light around it, as far as Anna was concerned. She grabbed my arm and said with a breathless voice…
“Mommy…… that….. dress….. is ……………………BEAUTIFUL!”

We did a quick try on and really you would have thought it was made for Anna. So it had to be bought.

She walked around in that dress with such a bounce in her step and a smile on her face feeling quite beautiful as a little bride “all dressed in white.”

A couple nights before Halloween we went to “boo at the zoo” with our friends. A beautiful Fall evening with wonderful folk.

Pumpkins…

Back in October (the 21st to be specific) we went to the pumpkin patch with friends.

Here are the pictures of the day. We had a very slight break and drop in the heat wave we were having at the time and so I (with very wishful thinking) made the kids wear sweaters. They were HOT! Recently we have been having some cooler temps but I think I was over eager. I am inclined to think that our southern California Autumns are hotter than our Summers.
